Project Description:
Visual Forces is a website devoted to inspirational photography and fine art. It was launched in 2001 as a site to simply display my photography, but was converted completely to inspirational photography on January 1, 2003 with a new site design. It features a gift shop, free e-cards, mailing list, news, articles and more. The layout, graphics, photos, content, navigation, and database work were all completed by me. I used third-part scripts for the e-commerce cart, radio, guestbook, and e-cards. I integrated each script in with the look & feel of the rest of the site.
Project Details:
Visual Forces was created with the following:
- Macromedia Dreamweaver (now Adobe)
- EditPlus 2
- Adobe Photoshop
- Candypress Shopping Cart
- Flash MP3 Player
- Canon Digital Rebel
- HTML, DHTML, ASP, mySQL
Project’s Future:
I created this site before I knew much about XHTML, CSS, or SEO. It currently has tables and very little SEO. Future plans are:
- Re-code the entire site using PHP and mySQL while making it XHTML & CSS compliant.
- Search Engine Optimization
- More Products
- Other secrets that I don’t want to let out just yet!

Project Description:
Star 102.1 is a radio station based out of Knoxville, TN that I often listen to. They ran a Photoshop contest where contestants used images of the morning talk-show hosts off of the radio station website to Photoshop them into something else. I decided to enter the contest and chose the following two images from the site:

I then took the images and Photoshopped them into the TROY movie poster (which was the current movie at the time) I placed their heads onto the bodies of the couple in the center of the poster. I then changed the name of the movie to STAR (The name of the radio station) and the actors’ names to the talk-show hosts’ names. Finally I gave everything the same texture and coloring as the original images and text.

There ended up being around 60 entries total in which Marc and Kim chose their favorites. Marc chose mine and Kim chose one where someone made her look like Marilyn Monroe. Marc conceded because Kim loved Marilyn Monroe so I came in second overall out of 60 people.

Project Description:
This spot illustration project was for the Illustration class at The Art Institute Online. We were required to pick any children’s story and create three illustrations for it. I chose “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” by Eric Carle, which is a great little story that helps children count while teaching them where butterflies come from.
